WTA – BNP Paribas Open

After recent tours in the Middle East, North America and Asia, WTA tennis action returns to the Americas for the Indian Wells Masters, also called the BNP Paribas Open – one of the most attended tennis event in the world outside the majors.

Betting odds are already taking shape for the top female stars, and tennis live betting on betting websites is expected to see a dramatic increase when they stepped on the hard court of the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

All eyes will be on Serena Williams who is yet to play some competitive tennis after taking a break following her Australian Open win last January. The Women’s World no. 1 is healthy and in good form after grabbing her 23rd major title, so she is anticipated to impress in the tournament which she hasn’t won since returning last 2015.

However, it won’t be an easy road for the 35-year-old American as her aim of a Sunshine double in California and Miami will be threatened by Angelique Kerber and Karolina Pliskova – both in great shape following their fantastic run in Dubai and Doha respectively.

Kerber was close to retaking the top spot from Williams last week, and although she failed, she is predicted to keep forcing on this matter. Her horrible January might make pundits write her off, but it shouldn’t be forgotten that she won two hard court grand slams in 2016 en route to being named the highest-ranked female player.

Pliskova, on the other hand, looks unbeatable with her incredible record this 2017. She also remains one of the more formidable participants in the tournament after seizing quality wins against other top-10 players and becoming the first woman to get two titles this year.

Of course, these three are not the only ones expected to make huge waves in the competition. Dominika Cibulkova, Agnieszka Radwanska, Garbiñe Muguruza, CoCo Vandeweghe and Caroline Wozniacki are consistently dangerous opponents who could give them a run for their money.

There is also Venus Williams who proved that her best days are not yet behind her; and if she could make a repeat of what we saw in Melbourne, we are all in for a treat.

Moreover, Dubai titlist Elina Svitolina and the 30th-ranked Kristina Mladenovic are exciting prospects in the tennis circuit that could make deep runs as well.

Sure enough, with a lineup filled with veterans, proven winners and young up-and-coming stars, there are a lot to watch out for this March.
