The Battle is on for Cincinnati’s Last Four!

countdown banner

Cincinnati Masters Men’s Singles SF

Rafael Nadal – unarguably the online betting favourite to win it all in the tournament – is out and the Cincinnati Masters title is now up for grabs, with the last four and less heralded tennis stars vying for supremacy on American soil.

Nick Kyrgios, who sent Nadal packing early, has the betting odds on his side, but the likes of John Isner, Grigor Dimitrov and David Ferrer will be determined to stop his incredible run as they all look for a confidence-booster ahead of the US Open.

Grigor Dimitrov vs John Isner

Both players are in great form so it would be no surprise if this battle goes the distance.

Dimitrov is the favourite to advance on betting websites, and he has the rest advantage over his American opponent after needing just 15 games and less than an hour to beat Yuichi Sugita in the quarterfinals. Nonetheless, the Bulgarian World No.11 can’t let his guard down against the big-hitting Isner who won 90 percent of his first serve points in his straight-set victory over Jared Donaldson.

It’s clear that Isner is at his best when playing on hard surfaces and with the consistency he has shown this season, there’s no doubt that he can pull off an upset – especially in front of his adoring home fans.

Dimitrov is playing some fantastic tennis, but he is yet to show that he can put together a complete performance with his up-and-down campaign. With that in mind, I like the chances of Isner to win on Money Line Odds @ 2.09.

Nick Kyrgios vs David Ferrer

Ferrer won their only meeting back in 2013, but he can’t rely on their history that much with Kyrgios more confident than ever.

The Spaniard can make life hard for Kyrgios with his dogged and grind-it-out style; however, the Australian’s aggressive style of play – coupled with his power and elite shotmaking – spells trouble for Ferrer, especially if the 22-year-old can keep hitting the right spots and play the way he did throughout the tournament.

Kyrgios has the momentum going in his direction, and he should be able to take full advantage of his win over Nadal to beat Ferrer on Asian Handicap -1.50 @ 2.08 and book his ticket to the finals.
