This is Djokovic’s first shot at redemption!

Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters QF

Novak Djokovic hasn’t lived up to the betting odds set by experts in recent tournaments. A series of unexpected exits has seen his stock sink in the tennis rankings and the sports betting community.

He may have gone through a sudden change before coming to Monte Carlo, however: he is the top-ranked player left among the great eight tennis players in Monte Carlo. There are still tough obstacles ahead, but he may have fully recovered his winning strokes.

Are you going to bet online for the Super Serb to start winning again?

Albert Ramos-Viñolas vs Marin Cilic

Albert Ramos-Viñolas is in top form after pulling off a shocking upset against tournament favourite Andy Murray. Looking at their match, the 29-year-old will be a tough nut to crack: his service game was on par with Murray’s attacks, and his receives were an impregnable foundation that was vital in his victory.

However, Cilic has won three of their last four matches: one of his wins was on the clay courts of Hamburg. As long as Cilic doesn’t allow Ramos-Viñolas to set the pace, he has a good chance of winning.

This game will surely go the distance, so it’s best for punters to choose Ramos-Viñolas’ +1.50 handicap for 1.70.

Pablo Cuevas vs Lucas Pouille

The next duel is another showcase between a clay court specialist and an all-rounder.

Lucas Pouille will have a lot of things to make up for when he faces Pablo Cuevas. His clay court game still needs work, and I don’t think the Uruguayan will overlook his weakness. Given Ceuvas’ affinity to clay, the only way Pouille can advance to the semis is if he keeps his service games and breaks a game or two.

Pouille can take several games, but I don’t see him overtaking the Uruguayan in his comfort zone. Bettors will be better off choosing Cuevas -1.50 @ 2.63.

Diego Sebastian Schwartzman vs Rafael Nadal

Diego Schwartzman will be coming into this game a huge underdog against the King of Clay himself.

While Schwartzman has made a big splash in the Istanbul Open by winning a three-set game against Grigor Dimitrov, the younger Argentinean will have a lot of defending to do against Rafa. The Spaniard outclasses him in serves and receives, making him a pesky customer to deal with.

Unless the small Argentinean manages to play smart, we can expect a quick series. Nadal’s -1.50 @ 1.32 is the most sensible betting decision to make.

David Goffin vs Novak Djokovic

Clay courts have never been David Goffin’s strong point, but he’s been making strides over the last two years in improving his game. However, the World No2 seems to be on a mission. It’ll be hard for anyone to stop him from advancing to the semis.

Djokovic is undoubtedly the better tennis player, but the Belgian can try to make life difficult for his opponent. I’m still not sure if Djokovic is consistent enough to reach the finals, but I’m sure that he’ll breeze through Goffin. Punters will be winning big by betting on Djokovic -1.50 @ 2.00.
