Silverstone Promises Furious Racing and Exciting Betting

British Grand Prix

The Formula 1 is fast approaching its mid-season break, so all teams will be scrapping hard for points before their respective engineers improve their machines. Live betting fans can expect racing to get aggressive as the drivers at the top will be scrapping for all the points they can get.

Lewis Hamilton supporters are especially hopeful that their man will win on home soil. Despite betting websites booking him as the 1.60 outright favourite, the Briton is still far from confident of his chances. Sebastian Vettel and Valtteri Bottas have given online betting fans plenty of reasons to back them with their superb performances in their past races. Hamilton’s Mercedes team-mate got 3.50 outright odds, while Vettel is booked third at 4.00.

Vettel has been outstanding this season, trading blows with the Briton throughout the season. Despite the forgettable offence he did at Azerbaijan, the German is the biggest hurdle Hamilton has to overcome. Bottas has always performed well in the speed traps of Silverstone and will surely gun for first after his strong win in Speilberg.

Hamilton himself is aware of how important this race is: “I want to win the British Grand Prix. I have not won the last two races. The pleasure it would give me, you can’t measure that. It’s always a must-win.”

Of course, these two aren’t the only drivers Hamilton should watch out for. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen (16.00) is hungry to follow up Daniel Ricciardo’s (21.00) win in Azerbaijan with a podium finish at Hamilton’s backyard. Kimi Raikkonen (21.00) may have been quiet throughout this season, but his consistent finishes may eventually result in him making a shock run for first.

Outside the sensational six, there are also drivers that will warrant your attention and bets. Force India’s Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon (501.00 each) are slowly creeping up on the top six and are expected to finish in good positions. Fernando Alonso (501.00) will start at the back of the grid due to the fresh engine penalty, but the Spaniard is focused on making the most out of the situation and come out with a positive one.

London is already giddy from F1’s Live London event, so expect the betting to be as furious and competitive as the racing on the track. Now that all the major players are here, we can now just sit back and enjoy the show.
