Hoffenheim vs Eintracht Frankfurt
Hoffenheim finally got things back on the right track after a confidence-boosting win against Koln. However, Julian Nagelsmann’s team isn’t out of the woods yet: Eintracht are proving to be a tough test for many of the mid-to-top teams in the league. They will definitely miss Benjamin Hubner’s defence as he is still out with muscular problems.
Bayer Leverkusen vs RB Leipzig
While RB Leipzig are back in familiar territory, I’m not sure if they’ll be able to just cruise past Bayer Leverkusen. Leverkusen’s counter-attacking football can hurt Ralph Hasenhuttl’s chances of victory. Moreover, Leverkusen haven’t been defeated for more than six weeks now. I see this ending in a draw, so pick RB Leipzig +0.25 @ 1.97.
Mainz 05 vs FC Koln
Mainz are definitely missing the services of Danny Latza, but I don’t think they need his talents against Koln. The Billy Goats are still having difficulty balancing the Europa League and the Bundesliga, so I don’t see them winning this time, either.
VfL Wolfsburg vs SC Freiburg
Wolfsburg are doing fine without Ignacio Camacho, but the draw they got against Hertha Berlin makes one think about whether the Spaniard could have won the game for them. The club has to focus on the present and look to extend their unbeaten run against a struggling Freiburg.
WEEK 12 SUNDAY:
Hertha Berlin vs Borussia Monchengladbach
Monchengladbach are on a winning run, thanks to the heroics of Lars Stindl and Thorgan Hazard. Meanwhile, Matthew Leckie is doing the heavy lifting for Hertha Berlin. This match should prove to be an interesting battle between two strong sides.
Schalke 04 vs Hamburger SV
The last thing Hamburger SV want is to be pit in another relegation battle, so they need to force a win against Schalke. While they will have difficulty scoring against an aggressive Schalke defence, Jann-Fiete Arp should be able to complement Bobby Wood to at least snag a goal away.
WEEK 12 MONDAY:
Werder Bremen vs Hannover 96
While both sides are suffering from bouts of inconsistency, Hannover are the ones playing more exciting football at the moment. As long as they can force mismatches, Hannover have a chance of winning the three points for their Champions League bid.
