This is why Bayern are the Champions!

RB Leipzig 4-5 Bayern Munich

In the penultimate chapter of the Bundesliga campaign, Bayern and Leipzig provided a nine-goal thriller that will undoubtedly go down as one of the most exhilarating live betting affairs of the season.

Betting odds are tight between the two ahead of the matchup, and both did not disappoint as they kept online gambling fans at the edge of their seats up until the final seconds of the game.

However, it wasn’t a game that the Bulls would want to remember as Robert Lewandowski and Co. showed them why the Bavarians are champions and why they are just second placers.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men battled back twice and scored three goals in the final 10 minutes of play – two of which are in stoppage time – to frustrate Leipzig and their home fans expecting a spectacular finish at the Red Bull Arena.

The hosts went ahead as early as the second minute through Marcel Sabitzer; and although Lewandowski equalised 15 minutes later, the Bulls seemed to be in control after Timo Werner converted from the penalty spot.

Yussuf Poulsen made it 3-1 for Leipzig just seconds of the restart, firing home from 18 yards following a spirited counter-attack.

Bayern reduced the deficit through a header from Thiago Alcantara at the stroke of the hour, but Werner’s second of the match appeared to have sealed things.

The Bavarians, of course, had other plans. After all, they are not the champions for nothing.

Late drama ensued in the closing stages as Lewandowski pulled Bayern to within striking distance in the 84th minute before David Alaba levelled matters in the first minute of injury time through a beautiful free-kick.

Arjen Robben then completed the turnaround with a solo run from the right to tap the ball in past keeper Peter Gulacsi.

The loss kept Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side at second, and they will now finish with at least a double-digit gap from the top – a definite proof that Bayern are in a league of their own.

Meanwhile, Hoffenheim remain fourth but level on points with Dortmund after their 5-3 victory over Bremen at Weserstadion. BVB, on the other hand, failed to keep their lead in third with a 1-1 stalemate against Augsburg.

On the other end of the table, Ingolstadt’s two-year stay in the top flight came to an end as their draw with Freiburg condemned them to relegation.
