What a Weekend for Manchester United and Football Betting Fans!

The Red Devils are on the charge. After winning comfortably at a tough place to go, Manchester United fans watched Liverpool throw away a lead at home to Crystal Palace.

United’s 2-0 win at Burnley was not a massive surprise for online betting fans in the red half of Manchester but Liverpool losing at home certainly was. For this, Premier League betting excitement has gone up a notch as the two races, for the Top Four and survival, reach fever pitch.

Burnley 0-2 Manchester United

An uncharacteristically sloppy Burnley defence allowed Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United to coast through to a half-time two-goal lead, which they never looked like surrendering in a calm second 45. First, Anthony Martial converted after a swift counter attack and before Burnley could recover their stride, Wayne Rooney bundled the ball home for a second. Next up for the Reds…Manchester City.

Liverpool 1-2 Crystal Palace

Jose’s day got even better when Palace stunned third-placed Liverpool which means the gap for United is now just three points to Liverpool and one to fourth placed City. Philippe Coutinho looked to be setting Jurgen Klopp’s team on course for an expected win until former Red Christian Benteke scored in each half to lift the Eagles to safety and spoil Jurgen’s day.

West Ham United 0-0 Everton

Everton’s hopes of closing the gap on the top four were dashed at the London Stadium where West Ham seized a point to see them as good as safe. League-leading scorer Romelu Lukaku didn’t have a sniff and Manuel Lanzini could have won it for the hosts late on; but 0-0 was about right!

Swansea City 2-0 Stoke City

The Swans kept their survival hopes alive with a deserved 2-0 win over Stoke in a game that swung on a dramatic second-half moment. Fernando Llorente had headed the hosts in front but as the Potters pressed, a second half penalty presented the chance to draw level. However, Marko Arnautovic blasted over and then watched Tom Carroll benefit from a wicked deflection to see Swansea over the line.

Bournemouth 4-0 Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough look doomed after a pitiful display which saw the Cherries’ Charlie Daniels cross for Josh King to poke home in the second minute. Shoddy defending on 14 gave Benik Afobe all the time he needed to make it two. Gaston Ramirez saw red on 20 minutes to effectively finish matters, and Marc Pugh and Daniels scored fine second-half goals to give the home fans a treat.
