Germany vs Norway
Well would you bet against them? Joachim Low’s team of stars has powered through Group C, winning seven out of seven football games, and Norway is next up on Monday.
Norway has had a pretty modest campaign, and is on seven points from their own seven games and has little or no chance of qualifying. So a home win in this fixture appears to be a pretty safe football prediction.
Germany visited the Czech Republic on Friday and had to wait until the 88th minute to grab a narrow win, while Norway won well, 2-0, at home to Azerbaijan. Lars Lagerback’s team is captained by Fulham midfielder Stefan Johansen and is workmanlike, but shouldn’t threaten the powerful Germans.
Josh King is the visitors’ biggest threat. The Bournemouth striker had a brilliant second half to last season in the Premier League and scored in Friday’s win against Azerbaijan.
Meanwhile Germany’s Mesut Ozil seemed to find his verve in Prague and with the influential Julian Draxler in midfield, and Thomas Muller up front, with five tournament goals to his name, the hosts will be as confident as ever. In reality this is not a great time in Norway’s football history, currently languishing in 85th position in the FIFA world rankings and last qualifying for the World Cup finals in 1998.
But if you really think Norway can build on their recent win and shock the Germans you can get odds of 1.83 on Norway winning with a +2.25 start.
