Live Betting Fun is Disaster for brave Leganes

Two goals in injury time at Villarreal were enough to send betting odds flying backwards and forwards, as home fans celebrated a narrow win.

Monday’s El Clasico had unbelievable drama, but there was plenty of action, ecstasy and heartbreak in the other nine football games in this weekend’s La Liga.

Villarreal 2-1 Leganes

No more so than in Castellon where it was heartbreak for Leganes after they thought they’d grabbed a last-minute point when Guerrero slotted home calmly to ease the relegations worries of the Madrid side. Cedric Bakambu had struck on 68 minutes to put the Yellow Submarine in charge but, after the late equaliser, the home fans were soon erupting again when Bakambu smashed home the winner at the death.

Espanyol 0-1 Atletico Madrid

Who else but Antoine Griezmann was on the spot to take three points, after a tough tussle with Espanyol, which keep Diego Simeone’s team in third. The in-form Catalans were right in the game until the 73rd minute when Griezmann fired into the bottom corner from a tight angle.

Sevilla 2-0 Granada

More gloom for Granada boss Tony Adams as Sevilla stay three points behind Atletico in fourth after a comfortable 2-0 win. A goal in each half by midfield ace Ganso did the damage. Maybe Adams should have a chat with his old manager Arsene Wenger to see how he copes…

Real Sociedad 1-0 Deportivo La Coruna

Willian Jose headed home the only goal of the game, and his 11th goal of the season, after good work from Yuri Berchiche, to give Sociedad a win which keeps their Europa League hopes alive. Depor are pretty much safe, eight points above the drop.

Eibar 0-1 Athletic Club

Raul Garcia stunned the Tuesday crowd at the Estadio Municipal de Ipurua with a 94th minute goal, smashed into the roof of the net. Eibar came into the game with three wins in four, and hoping to leapfrog the visitors into sixth, but weren’t helped when Gonzalo Escalante saw red for a clumsy foul on 56 minutes.

Celta Vigo 0-1 Real Betis

Celta Vigo seem to be concentrating all efforts on the Europa League, resting players again, and paid the price with Real Betis the beneficiaries at the Balaidos. Serbian Darko Brasanac scored with a diving header early in the second half and Real held on with some ease.

Las Palmas 1-1 Alaves

There was no holiday mood in Las Palmas where the home team was robbed and then reduced to ten men. Kevin-Prince Boateng put the hosts in front before the break, but Ibai Gomez hit back for Alaves on 61, with Deyverson obstructing the keeper in a clearly offside position. The errant ref made matters worse, sending Las Palmas’ Marko Livaja off with minutes remaining.

Malaga 2-0 Valencia

Two goals in five minutes gave Malaga their third win in April, and this one at La Rosaleda was pretty comfortable. Recio headed home a Javier Ontiveros cross on 36 minutes before Sandro Ramirez added a second soon after.

Osasuna 2-2 Sporting Gijon

A fantastic comeback by Sporting grabbed a late draw at Osasuna, but a point isn’t really much use for either of these two bottom-three clubs. The hosts went two ahead through a Jorge Mere own goal and a Kenan Kodro strike, but Roberto Canella and Carlos Castro struck two minutes apart to seize a point for Sporting.
