It’s a question you may start to ask – even if we’re just four football games into the new season.
The answer is probably not, it’s still too early.
However, sports betting pundits will no doubt see some form of semblance (the two Manchester clubs and Chelsea are the current top three) at both ends of the standings, even if it remains very much in its infancy.
WEEK 5 SATURDAY:
Bournemouth vs Brighton & Hove Albion
After their moment to savour last weekend – a first top-flight victory for 34 years – would you bet online on the remarkable journey continuing for Brighton?
Bournemouth, of course, have had their own magical adventure in recent years and now need to make sure a below-par start to the current campaign doesn’t develop into something bigger.
The thought that this contest would be an English Premier League affair would have made even the most sentimental football fan raise an eyebrow not so long ago.
Crystal Palace vs Southampton
It will be all about Roy as Roy Hodgson returns to the dugout for the first time since England’s embarrassing Euro 2016 exit.
If he can have the impact Sam Allardyce had on the Eagles after his arrival last term, they will be moving upwards quickly.
That the Saints have failed to score in four of their five matches in all competitions so far this season tells its own story.
Huddersfield Town vs Leicester City
After a dream start, the Terriers came back to earth with a bump and need a return to their dynamism which was such an integral part of their opening fixtures.
Leicester often have that in abundance but can they show it at newly promoted Huddersfield?
This would be a good time for 2016 footballer of the year Riyad Mahrez to begin some bridge-building with Foxes’ fans.
Liverpool vs Burnley
After their Champions League thriller in midweek, it’s back to the bread and butter of domestic action.
As Liverpool aim to put their 10-man Man City mauling behind them, Burnley arrive at Anfield where they have not won since 1974.
Should they show ambition, Sean Dyche’s team may prove obdurate opponents with new signing Chris Wood already hitting the headlines.
Newcastle United vs Stoke City
They love Rafael Benitez in the north-east.
They will love him even more if the Spaniard, who missed last weekend’s game following a procedure, can inspire a third straight Toon win.
Stoke will have something to say about that and showed against Man Utd last weekend that they have secured a real find in new striker Jean-Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (free transfer from Schalke).
Watford FC vs Manchester City
Since his Manchester City debut two years ago, no player has provided more Premier League assists than Kevin de Bruyne.
They were merciless at Watford on the final day of last season and, while clear favourites, should expect a tougher challenge here than the one they encountered then.
Under new coach Marco Silva, the Hornets find themselves fourth in the table and impressing.
West Bromwich Albion vs West Ham United
Tony Pulis’ team lacked their usual intensity as they went down at Brighton, and he will demand an instant response.
West Ham got one of their own at home to Huddersfield and need to build on that.
He will now ask whether they will be the consistent Hammers of 2015/16 or the frustrated Hammers of 2016/17.
WEEK 5 SUNDAY:
Tottenham Hotspur vs Swansea City
Tottenham’s tenancy at Wembley suddenly looks more appealing after they despatched Borussia Dortmund in midweek.
Harry Kane is on fire, and the man whose goals helped preserve Swansea’s top-flight status last season is now easing himself to fitness.
The Welsh club now need their own replacement for Fernando Llorente, Wilfried Bony, to fill the gap.
Manchester United vs Everton
A tale of two strikers.
It will be interesting to see how Everton fans react to Romelu Lukaku after he departed Goodison two months ago, albeit with a healthy profit for the Toffees.
Meanwhile, Wayne Rooney is destined for a fully deserving reception at the club where he wrote his name into the record books.
