Seongnam FC and Ulsan Hyundai will lock horns once more in the 2020 K-League season. This time, the fixture will be held on Seongnam’s turf over at the Tancheon Sports Complex.

As cliche as it may sound, this is a must-win for both of these teams as we are approaching the climax of this campaign – and for different reasons.

For the home team, they are aiming to get back on track as they hover around the sixth to the eighth spot at the table. A victory here can put them back to the top-half, overtaking FC Seoul in the process.

As for the visitors, grabbing points is essential since they are neck-and-neck with the defending champions in Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. As of this writing, the Horangi have 39 points and they only lead by one point over them.

Seongnam FC need to improve their attack

The Magpies have been eager to get back to where they were during the first few matchdays of the season.

With superb performances from Yang Dong-hyun and Hong Si-woo, Seongnam FC were in the top three right beside Ulsan Hyundai and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.

But now, they find themselves at the seventh spot at the table with 18 points and their form has been inconsistent.

Ulsan Hyundai are on a tear

The league leaders simply cannot be stopped as they are yet to be defeated in quite some time.

Since losing against Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors last June 28^th, the Horangi never lost in nine straight matches in all competitions and they’ve doing so in dominant fashion.

Seven of those matches saw the Kim Do-hoon managed squad put in at least two goals, while four of those ended up being clean sheets.

Junior Negrao is head above shoulders among the pack in terms of scoring. He has already compiled 18 goals and he isn’t showing any signs of slowing down despite his advancing age.

Ulsan’s defence has been the best in the league as well. They’ve only conceded 10 goals from their opponents and they have a 26 goal difference.

With the way they’ve been playing, the Horangi are in good shape to achieve their main objective which is to win the K-League title.

It was already mentioned before that Seongnam FC have been a thorn on Ulsan Hyundai’s side, especially with their road record against them.

In fact, they also have the slight edge in their overall head-to-heads as they have one more win compared to their visitors.

Their reverse fixture earlier this season was a grind on both sides. However, it took a late goal from Junior Negrao in the 88^th minute for the Horangi to escape with a victory.
