K-League: Daegu and Busan Offer One More Thrilling Go-Around

countdown banner

Daegu FC vs Busan I’Park

After being a few weeks removed from their first K-League match earlier this season, this time, we head on over to the DGB Bank Park as Daegu FC host Busan I’Park in the 13th round of the 2019/20 season.

These two middling teams are jostling for position in the Korean top-flight standings. Daegu FC are placed fifth with 19 points and they are four points ahead of their visitors, who are right behind them at sixth place.

When these two first met, it was a different story altogether. At the time, Daegu FC had the significant edge in terms of form, while Busan I’Park were in dire need of a win.

But a lot has changed since then, especially for the visitors. After struggling to adjust in their first time back in the top-flight since 2015, the Royals have pieced together some encouraging performances and now they are in the upper half of the table.

Now with a renewed sense of confidence, Jo Deok-jae’s men are eager to keep their momentum going, so another exciting match beckons us this weekend.

Can the Royals continue to surprise us here in SBOBET? Or will the citizen club deal them with a harsh reality check at their home pitch?

Talking Points

Daegu FC weathering the storm

Lee Byunggeun’s side is treading some rough waters as of the moment since they’re missing some of their key players.

Hong Jeong-woon, who is their marshal at the back, is still recovering from an unfortunate ACL injury while Hwang Soon-min and Kim Woo-seok have some minor issues too.

Edgar, who has formed a unique partnership with their frontman in Cesinha, remains out because of an Achilles problem.

Those absences were felt during their recent loss against the surging Sangju Sangmu club to where they’ve conceded two goals while not scoring even once.

The citizen club looked lost in key stretches during that game given their relative inexperience together on the pitch, which was in full display during the second half.

Physical and mental fatigue set in as they were unable to control possession, and what’s worse is that they were reduced to 10 men when Tsubasa Nishi was given a red card during the last few minutes of the match.

His suspension will surely hurt Daegu in the middle since he is one of their more decent options.

The burden would rest on Cesinha’s shoulders as he will try to snap their losing skid. He will have to be on his talismanic form especially since he was named as the player of the month last June.

Busan I’Park showing signs of improvement

After failing to win in their last seven matches, the Royals have finally acclimated themselves to the competition – winning three of their last five fixtures.

Their attack – which was once their weakest point early this term – suddenly became their source of strength as several players stepped up to the challenge.

Romulo, Kwon Hyeok-kyu, and Lee Dong-jun’s collaboration has gone very well for Jo Deok-jae’s system as they were able to create some notable K-League 2020 highlights.

Their full back in Kim Moon-hwan continues to flaunt his versatility on both ends. Besides leading their backline, the 24-year-old have also had a hand in some goals too.

From being the second-worst team in the league, the Royals are now sixth and a race to the top four is on the horizon.

They will have a chance to prove their mettle when they visit Daegu FC on Sunday.

History

Matches between Daegu FC and Busan I’Park have come few and far between given that the latter has bounced in and out of the Korean top-flight.

They haven’t faced each other much in the K-League, but all in all, they’ve had 17 matches together.

Daegu FC won in eight while Busan I’Park won in six along with three draws.

In their reverse fixture last June, Daegu FC were about to take the victory with Lee Jin-hyun’s late goal up until Romulo scored via a penalty during added time. The final score was 2-2.

Betting Tip

??
Daegu FC vs Busan I’Park Daegu FC Asian Handicap -0.75 @ 2.28
July 26, 18:00 (GMT+8)

In our K-League 2020 odds, the home team is the hot favourite to win. Daegu FC are at 1.93, while Busan I’Park are priced at 3.55 and a draw is at 3.60 in the 1×2 market.

Besides leaning heavily towards a Daegu FC victory, perhaps you can also place your wagers on Total Goal 2-3 @ 1.35 or even Over 2.50 @ 1.65 based on their recent performances.

While Busan I’Park have made significant progress after 13 matchdays, Daegu FC’s overall quality still looks better on paper.

However, given that the home team is incomplete, this presents a unique opportunity for the visitors to come in and steal this game on the road.

A SHORT EXPLANATION ON HOW OUR (??) BETS ARE WORTH:
?? = €20 (Highly confident) ?? = €10 (CONFIDENT) ?? = €5 (SOMEWHAT CONFIDENT)
