Brazil takes on Peru at the Los Angeles Stadium on Wednesday, and the fans there deserve a treat, which we can be pretty sure is coming their way.

Two months is not a long time and Peru’s exploits in the Copa are still fresh in the memory. In amongst the giants of South American football, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Colombia, the Incas weren’t expected to feature in the latter stages but they very nearly went all the way. And their exploits have lifted them up to 19th in the FIFA world rankings, but still some way short of Brazil’s second place.
Seasoned forward Paulo Guerrero and his strike partner Jefferson Farfan’s goals took Peru to the final showdown, but they won’t be in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Firmino could line up alongside Everton’s Richarlison who, at 22 years old, looks to have a big future with six goals already in 14 games for Brazil.
Neymar’s failure to secure a summer move from Paris has led to fears his mind may not be on the game, but he was on target in the 2-2 draw with Colombia on Saturday and we aren’t going to keep him out of the Brazil vs Peru news!
But there will be no Gabriel Jesus in the side. The Manchester City striker has been suspended from international games for two months following his conduct in the Copa America final. The 22-year-old has also been fined $30,000 for his actions which included making gestures which implied the referee had been paid off.
History
With five World Cups and 11 Copa America titles, Brazil is South American football royalty, and with yet another side packed with talent they rightly expect to dominate every time they step onto the pitch.
Los Incas have a more humble record, having participated at the World Cup finals five times, most recently at Russia 2018, and they have won the Copa America twice, in 1939 and 1975.
The Selecao has had much the better of the meetings between these two sides, winning 39 and drawing nine, while Peru has won just four.
