The second half continued in the same vein with chances at both ends, first Germany’s Lars Stindl forcing a save before Tomas Soucek came close twice for the Czechs. Joachim Low brought PSG’s Julian Draxler on after 68 minutes to try to spark a fast finish, but it was the Czechs who scored on 78 minutes when Jakub Jankto teed up Vladimir Darida to fire a bullet into the top corner.
And then, right at the death, up popped Mats Hummels to nod home Toni Kroos cross for the winner. Never write Germany off!
