What a Comeback for Reus and Strong Dortmund!

RB Leipzig 1-1 Borussia Dortmund

Dortmund failed to get all three points, but they did well to share the spoils against a feisty RB Leipzig side that went ahead at the half-hour mark.

Marco Reus was at the heart of BVB’s come-from-behind draw as he delighted the club’s live betting faithful with a landmark goal.

Pre-match betting tips were evenly split between the two online gambling heavyweights, with both sides knowing the value of getting all the points. And sure enough, Dortmund and Leipzig played out an entertaining first half as they eye for the win.

There were plenty of opportunities to score for both teams right from the start. Timo Werner and Michy Batshuayi uncharacteristically spurned their chances, while Dortmund saw two goals ruled out for offside.

Leipzig, however, were able to finally take the lead through Jean-Kevin Augustin, who fired home from close range off a Naby Keita assist.

Nonetheless, the visitors soon levelled matters when Reus rounded Leipzig keeper Peter Gulacsi to slot home a wide-open goal.

The Germany forward received a pass from Mahmoud Dahoud at the top of the box and went on to finish with a left-footed shot. That goal was also historic as it put Reus as only the third player after Robert Lewandowski and Mario Gomez to score against every current Bundesliga club.

Neither team was able to score a winner in a scrappy second-half display marred with poor passing. Batshuayi missed a golden opportunity to put BVB ahead at the hour, while Keita couldn’t finish well as he sent the ball wide despite his scoring position.

The result dropped Dortmund to third, one point behind Schalke 04 who moved to second after edging Hertha Berlin  1-0. They are still three points ahead of Leipzig, though, who remain at sixth.

Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen piled more pressure on the other top-four chasers as they bagged victories earlier in the weekend. Frankfurt earned a 1-0 victory over Hannover 96 to stay fourth with 42 points, while Bayer remained fifth with 41 points following a 1-2 domination of Wolfsburg.

Elsewhere, there’s a win for Hoffenheim who beat Augsburg 0-2, while Borussia Monchengladbach and Werder Bremen, as well as Hamburger SV and Mainz, split the honours in their respective matches.
