It’s Mad January again and the transfer mill is just getting started.

Football betting fans take a daily look at the rumours around who’s going where; and as the month draws to a close that look becomes hourly… and more nervous.

The betting odds at the end of January are the ones to take notice of when it comes to picking the winners at the top and the survivors at the bottom of the Premier League. For the selling crucial to keep hold of your crown jewels while bringing in the right player may just bring success come May.

PSG have reportedly joined the Chinese Super League and Inter Milan in putting offers on the table for Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean hasn’t been tied down to a long contract yet and I believe the big risk to the Gunners will come in summer if Arsene Wenger is tempted to take the reigns in Paris.

Chelsea’s Oscar has gone to Shanghai for £60m and while Real Madrid have said they have no interest in Spurs’ Dele Alli, the Chinese Super League is offering riches for him and Harry Kane and Mauricio Pochettino’s main aim is to keep these two at the Lane.

Back up the Kings Road Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wants to sign Swansea’s Fernando Llorente and may be willing to send Michy Batshuayi the other way on loan.

At Manchester United Jose Mourinho says he doesn’t need another defender, and he should know, but there are whispers of United’s Paul Pogba chatting to his French buddy Antoine Griezmann. The Atletico hit man is better than anyone at Old Trafford currently.

Jose says Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay can leave the Theatre of Dreams. Everton are interested in both and West Brom have already made an unsuccessful bid for Schneiderlin. And I’ve heard that Marouane Fellaini may also be available.

Everton’s Gerard Deulofeu may be on the way to Milan and the Toffees have already landed £7.5m Charlton striker Ademola Lookman.

In mid table Leicester have signed Genk midfielder Wilfred Ndidi for £15m and Joey Barton has returned to Burnley after a successful stint a Turf Moor last season.

Big spenders Middlesbrough have shelled out an undisclosed fee to bring striker Rudy Gestede from Aston Villa and Aitor Karanka is trying to sign Bojan Krkic from Stoke.

West Ham have been chasing Sunderland’s Jermain Defoe and Robert Snodgrass from Hull, but these are the players the relegation threatened teams must hang on to if they are to have any chance of survival. Selling either is throwing the towel in.

And then Saido Berahino, remember him? The boy who rates himself so highly he has tried to engineer moves seemingly every transfer window in memory. Well he’s still at West Brom and still refusing to sign a new contract!

23 days to go things are beginning to heat up…
