Big Names are really desperate for Points

The bigger they are, the harder they fall.  And when you’re on a bad run, football games can look nigh on impossible to win. Just ask Claudio Ranieri and Sam Allardyce.

Both coaches have huge reputations for very different reasons, the commonality being their ability to make achievements which defy logic and betting odds.

But before all that, for my first Premier League Betting pick for the midweek games I’m taking a look at two big clubs at the opposite end of the league.

Sunderland vs Tottenham Hotspur (February 01, 03:45 GMT+8)

Third-placed Spurs had a gruelling battle against Wycombe to advance into the fifth round of the FA Cup but have won the last five league games. Meanwhile, Sunderland, in the deal of the century, have managed to get £14m.Yes, £14m for Patrick van Aaanholt from Crystal Palace! But, other than improving the balance sheet, that won’t help the rock bottom Black Cats.

Spurs to win this, with a -1.25 handicap, is a 🌟🌟🌟 bet paying 1.86.

Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace (February 01, 03:45 GMT+8)

Having thrown in the FA Cup in the third round the Cherries had a nice rest at the weekend, while Crystal Palace suffered a confidence-sapping 3-0 home defeat to Manchester City. I’m sure Big Sam would prefer to spend transfer deadline day spending more zillions on players he thinks can ensure survival.

Neither team is in good form; and I can see a draw at 3.25 for a 🌟 bet.

Burnley vs Leicester City (February 01, 03:45 GMT+8)

The Champions are still only five points above the drop zone and really need to pull away before the Champions League starts again. They also have an FA Cup replay to come after a battling draw against Derby County, and Burnley aren’t the ideal venue to visit on a freezing Wednesday. The Clarets have won their last six home games in all competitions and love playing under floodlights.

Burnley, Draw no Bet, at 2.12 is another 🌟🌟🌟 bet.

Good Luck!
