Premier League Betting on the Brilliant De Bruyne

countdown banner

Kevin De Bruyne gave a football master class to inspire Manchester City to another spectacular win on Saturday, while the rest of the Premier League challengers fought for scraps.

Live betting fans struggled to keep pace with league Leaders Manchester City as they hit poor Stoke for seven. The betting odds on the title going back to the Etihad are shortening by the week, and on this weekend’s evidence you have to wonder if anyone can touch Pep’s stars.

Manchester City 7-2 Stoke City

The outstanding De Bruyne was one of few players not to score as the Sky Blues destroyed Stoke; Gabriel Jesus was the only one to score twice. After going 3-0 down, the Potters fought back to 3-2. Not a smart move with hindsight!

Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United

Well, these two giants of the world game managed to suck the life out of one of the most passionate fixtures in the calendar! Jose Mourinho always sets up not to lose when he’s away to one of the better teams, and Liverpool simply weren’t good enough to break the Red Devils down. Job done Jose.

Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Bournemouth

Spurs finally managed to win a league game at Wembley, but fans would have really started to worry if they couldn’t beat the struggling Cherries. Christian Eriksen scored the only goal of the game, just after halftime, to keep the Whites in third place.

Watford FC 2-1 Arsenal

Four wins on the run and a comfortable lead at Watford with 20 minutes to go; and then…a Troy Deeney penalty and an injury-time strike by Tom Cleverley gave renewed voice to the ‘Wenger Out’ brigade. That’s football I suppose, but the Happy Hornets won’t care. They’re up to fourth.

Burnley 1-1 West Ham United

A late Chris Wood header gave Burnley a point and ended a five-match losing streak to their bogey team. West Ham had gone ahead when Michail Antonio got on the end of a huge Joe Hart clearance, but Andy Carroll was sent off for two elbows to leave the Hammers struggling, and failing, to hang on for over an hour.

Southampton 2-2 Newcastle United

Southampton and Newcastle shared the spoils in an end-to-end match on the South coast. Manolo Gabbiadini hit a crucial double for the Saints after Newcastle had gone ahead twice, through Isaac Hayden and Ayoze Perez, who took advantage of a Fraser Forster error.

Brighton & Hove Albion 1-1 Everton

It was honours even too, along the coast at Brighton, as Everton once again failed to win and shake off its early-season malaise. Anthony Knockaert thought he’d won it late for the Seagulls, but then Wayne Rooney converted a 90th-minute penalty to save the Toffees.

Swansea City 2-0 Huddersfield Town

A Tammy Abraham double gave Swansea a first win of the season at home and lifted them out of the bottom three. After winning their first two, the Terriers are now finding life tough and are without a win in six.

Leicester City 1-1 West Bromwich Albion

A brilliant free-kick by West Brom’s Nacer Chadli looked to have decided the Monday night fixture, until Riyad Mahrez latched on to a clearance, controlled and shot smartly into the bottom corner to make it 1-1. The Baggies haven’t lost in eight matches at the King Power, and that leaves Leicester in the bottom three.
