This is What It Takes to be MVP!

James Harden, LeBron James, Russell Westbrook and Giannis Antetokounmpo are four of this year’s MVP frontrunners, and they showed the online gambling community the reason for that in today’s NBA showdown.

All four players bagged a near triple-double to pace their teams to victory, delighting their live betting faithful and keeping the betting odds swinging in their favour.

Phoenix Suns 102-113 Houston Rockets

Leading MVP candidate James Harden tallied 27 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists to fire the Rockets past the Devin Booker-led Suns. Trevor Ariza’s injury early in the game didn’t weaken Houston’s offence as they stayed on the front foot throughout and even led by 18 at one point.

Milwaukee Bucks 110-96 Chicago Bulls

The Bucks still haven’t found Jason Kidd’s replacement at the helm, but that didn’t stop them from winning. They have now won three straight games while handing the Bulls their fourth consecutive defeat.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was reportedly “devastated” by Kidd’s sacking, let his emotions loose en route to 27 points, nine board and eight dimes.

LA Clippers 112-103 New Orleans Pelicans

Trailing by as much as 21 points, the Clippers staged their biggest road comeback since 2004 to take down the shorthanded Pelicans. Blake Griffin and Lou Williams led the Clips’ second-half fightback as New Orleans struggled to fill the void left by injured All-Star centre DeMarcus Cousins.

Los Angeles Lakers 111-123 Toronto Raptors

Fred VanVleet came off the bench for the Raptors and stole the spotlight from his All-Star teammates. The second-year point guard notched a career-high 25 points, helping Toronto snap the Lakers’ four-game winning streak.

Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle, meanwhile, chipped in 17 each in a losing effort for the Lonzo Ball-less Lakers.

Philadelphia 76ers 112-122 Oklahoma City Thunder

Given their current record, it’s hard to imagine that this is the same Thunder team struggling earlier in the season. However, they have won eight straight now and are back as one of the West’s elites.

Russell Westbrook’s resurgence helped them tremendously, and the reigning NBA MVP was at his usual self again with 37 points, 14 assists and nine rebounds against the Sixers.

Not even the combined effort of All-Star Joel Embiid and rising star Ben Simmons was enough to stop Westbeast and Oklahoma!

Detroit Pistons 104-121 Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavs recorded their first back-to-back wins since December as they blow out the Pistons at Quicken Loans Arena. LeBron James proved that he still has much left on the tank, leading The Land with an all-around performance of 25  points, 14 assists and eight rebounds.

Kevin Love was also pivotal in a game that saw Isaiah Thomas sit out the final quarter.

Sacramento Kings 98-113 San Antonio Spurs

It was a fantastic night for San Antonio after their bench unit scored a combined 68 points. The Spurs picked on the Kings’ weak defence, with Bryn Forbes leading the reserves with 23 markers. For comparison, Sacramento’s bench made only 40 points.
