Remember what happened last year, sports betting fans

Golden State Warriors 116-137 Cleveland Cavaliers

Okay, this series is not quite the same. The Cavaliers won Game 3 last year and lost the following game before extending the series to a Game 7 and winning the NBA Championship.

However, what’s similar this time is that Cleveland are back trailing 3-1, and that will make their live betting supporters hope for a repeat of last year’s brilliant comeback.

Indeed, their Game 4 victory was nothing short of amazing, so their fans can’t be blamed for expecting an online betting turnaround despite all that’s changed.

Cleveland’s Big Three finally clicked and the whole starting lineup did not disappoint as they pulled away early and never looked back to give Golden State their first postseason loss this 2017.

Kyrie Irving and LeBron James played more aggressively, knowing that a loss would end their title chances. Irving was particularly sensational as he relentlessly attacked the basket and displayed his shotmaking ability.

He finished with 40 points and seven dimes, while LeBron had another solid triple-double night with 31 points, 11 assists and 10 boards.

Kevin Love, who had only nine points the last time out, also found his groove from the three-point territory where he scored 18 of his 23 markers.

On the other hand, Golden State had a shooting slump as they exited the match with just 11 made threes – a measly figure considering that they made nine treys in the first quarter of Game 3 alone. In contrast, Cleveland shot 53.3 percent from deep with 24.

Steph Curry and Klay Thompson were largely ineffective, specifically in the opening period when they only made one basket each as the Cavs rolled to an unbelievable 49-33 lead. The Splash Bros. ended with a combined 27 points.

Kevin Durant did his best to carry the Warriors back to life, but his 35 points were not enough to cancel out the Big Three’s scoring barrage.

If the Cavs want to become the first team in NBA history to win the Larry O’Brien trophy despite starting 0-3, they will need to repeat today’s performance from here on out. It will also help them if their reserve unit can at least level the production of the Dubs’ bench.

The Warriors are still heavy favourites heading back to Oracle Arena for Game 5, but we all know what happened there last year.
