Indeed, revenge is a dish best served cold.

After their controversial meeting on Christmas day, the Warriors now proved to betting websites and to the whole online gambling community why betting odds favour them to take the NBA championship this year.

Of course, it’s still too early to say what will happen, but their 35-point thrashing of the defending Champions erases any doubt on who is the real team to beat.

Cleveland Cavaliers 91-126 Golden State Warriors

This battle, once again, failed to live up to expectations with the Warriors turning it into a one-sided affair and total demolition of their rivals.

LeBron James, perhaps, shouldn’t have said that the Warriors are the best team as the home side showed to him and his Cavaliers what they can do both on offence and defence.

Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry combined for 67 points on an efficient shooting clip, while Draymond Green seized a triple-double with 11 points, 11 dimes and 13 boards. Most importantly, Golden State also limited Cleveland and the Big Three to just 35 percent shooting.

Atlanta Hawks 108-107 New York Knicks

It was a more challenging game than the Hawks expected, but Dennis Schroder’s heroics ensured that they bag the crucial win against their Eastern Conference opponent. Schroder scored 28 points, including the go-ahead trifecta that gave them the lead with 22 seconds left on the clock.

Carmelo Anthony made 30 for the Knicks, though the absence of Kristaps Porzingis undoubtedly weakened their firepower.

Portland Trail Blazers 101-120 Washington Wizards

Portland’s 19-point defeat to Washington is proof of their defensive woes that continue to hamper their season. The Trail Blazers allowed the Wizards to lead by as much as 30 points in the game, with Bradley Beal and John Wall combining for 49 points on more than 58 percent shooting.

To make matters worse, Portland also failed to find their rhythm from beyond the arc.

Philadelphia 76ers 113-104 Milwaukee Bucks

Sure, Milwaukee’s exhaustion from yesterday’s match with the Hawks might have played a factor in their loss, but it can’t also be denied that Philadelphia played remarkable basketball.

Eight out of the 10 Sixers available for the game scored in double figures, with the returning Joel Embiid leading the way with 22 points and 12 rebounds. This balanced offence was also enough to render Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jabari Parker’s performance useless.

New Orleans Pelicans 95-98 Indiana Pacers

Anthony Davis left the game after a scary fall, and the Pelicans bowed down to the Pacers despite finally showing some life on the offensive end. Davis’ departure certainly left a huge void to fill on the New Orleans’ lineup as their comeback following a huge second quarter was halted.

Though, it also helped Indiana that they shot better from the field than the visitors.

Orlando Magic 112-125 Denver Nuggets

If it isn’t obvious by now, Nikola Jokic is the future of the Nuggets franchise, and he proved it once again with an all-around performance against the Magic. The 21-year-old Serbian recorded 30 points, 11 rebounds and five assists while also making three steals to thump Orlando who had trouble stopping them from firing on all cylinders.

Charlotte Hornets 98-108 Boston Celtics

Isaiah Thomas scored 17 of his 35 points in the final 12 minutes of play and showed why he is rightfully nicknamed “The King in the Fourth.” Boston led throughout the game and gradually increased their lead in every quarter, behind Thomas and Al Horford who contributed 22 points.

Utah Jazz 106-101 Phoenix Suns

A strong outing from Utah’s starting unit was enough to remove all the confidence that Phoenix had from their win against the Spurs. Rudy Gobert led the Jazz with 18 points and 17 rebounds to strengthen his case as the best centre in the league, while Gordon Hayward and George Hill chipped in 17 points apiece.

Eric Bledsoe and Devin Booker combined for 56 points, but they didn’t get enough support from their teammates.

Oklahoma City Thunder 98-120 LA Clippers

The Clips pulled away early, and they never looked back despite a spirited second half from Russell Westbrook and the Thunder. Westbrook was the only one who made noise for Oklahoma, though his 36 percent shooting leaves much to be desired.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles—powered by JJ Redick and DeAndre Jordan—was the team in control throughout, dominating the rebounds and assists department.
