NBA: Hapless Lakers Hoping to End Their Skid Sans LeBron James

The Lakers are lost without LeBron James. And with him sidelined for the meantime, Los Angeles must find ways to cope starting tomorrow vs. the Blazers in order to stay afloat.

Meanwhile, the Magic, Wizards, Hornets, Grizzlies, Cavaliers, Thunder, Nets, and Nuggets travel on the road to visit the Pacers, Sixers, Celtics, Knicks, Rockets, Mavericks, Kings, and Jazz to round out another busy day in the NBA.

Orlando Magic @ Indiana Pacers

The Pacers are keen to assert their mastery over the Magic in their first-ever meeting this season. Prior to tomorrow, Orlando have lost six straight games to Indiana – with their last win dating back to 2019.

Both teams are likely headed to the lottery as per the SBOTOP NBA 2022 odds. However, this game should bring some excitement since it’ll feature four players selected to compete in the Rising Stars Challenge such as Jalen Suggs, Franz Wagner, Cole Anthony, and Chris Duarte.

Betting Tip: Indiana Pacers Asian Handicap -4.50 @ 1.95

Washington Wizards @ Philadelphia Sixers

Philadelphia aim to extend their five-game winning streak when they’ll host Washington. They’re fresh from a close win over the fearless Grizzlies while the Wizards fell short to the Bucks on Tuesday.

Andre Drummond was massive in the said game as he dropped 16 points and 23 rebounds. And whether or not Joel Embiid returns after a day off, Drummond still makes the Sixers formidable.

Washington look out of sync without their All-Star Bradley Beal. And unfortunately for them, he’ll have to sit out a couple more games due to his sprained hand.

Charlotte Hornets @ Boston Celtics

Confidence is high for the Celtics following their dominant victory over the Heat and they’ll seek more momentum when they’ll take on the Hornets.

Some of the league’s youngest stars are present for this contest as Boston are led by the dynamic duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, while Charlotte have LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges.

The Celtics and the Hornets have split their first two out of their four meetings this season. However, Ime Udoka’s side seems to have the edge since the Hornets are only 10-22 all-time in Boston.

Memphis Grizzlies @ New York Knicks

The Knicks have their work cut out for them as they’ll host the Grizzlies tomorrow.

Ja Morant has been a regular fixture in the NBA 2022 highlights since he has scored at least 30 points in a franchise-record seven straight games while leading them to third in the West as they’ve won three of their last four.

New York, meanwhile, are fresh from a much-needed home victory over the Kings yesterday which halted their three-game slide.

Furthermore, Tom Thibodeau would like to see solid performances from his veterans tomorrow especially since it would boost their value in the trade market.

Betting Tip: Memphis Grizzlies Asian Handicap -2.50 @ 1.87

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Houston Rockets

The Cavaliers look to win their 10th game in their last 12 when they’ll visit the lowly Rockets despite being undermanned.

All-Star candidate Darius Garland and forward Lauri Markkanen are both unavailable due to injuries, so Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, Kevin Love, and Isaac Okoro would have to bring their A-game.

The Rockets don’t have injuries to deal with compared to the Cavs, but they’re likely to lose since they have a weaker lineup overall.

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Dallas Mavericks

The Thunder and the Mavericks meet for the fourth and final time this season. Dallas has won the previous three, which puts them in an advantageous position tomorrow.

Luka Doncic will carry the heavy load for Dallas since they won’t have Kristaps Porzingis (knee) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (foot).

On the other hand, Lu Dort and Josh Giddey would have to pick up the slack for the Thunder since Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is sidelined due to an ankle sprain.

Brooklyn Nets @ Sacramento Kings

Brooklyn Nets key players will go all out to beat the Sacramento Kings in their next NBA road game
Brooklyn Nets’ Kyrie Irving and James Harden react during the second half of their NBA game against the Suns

The Nets and the Kings have a chance to end their losing streaks soon. However, only one of them can do it tomorrow.

James Harden and Kyrie Irving would want to bounce back following their loss to the Suns, and they’re capable of doing so since the Kings have one of the league’s worst defences.

Sacramento are the heavy underdogs for this game since their backcourt doesn’t have the same star power as Brooklyn’s.

Denver Nuggets @ Utah Jazz

Utah have fallen off considerably as they’ve lost 11 of their last 13 games. And with Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell’s availability questionable as of this writing, they’re going to have a hard time against Denver tomorrow.

Denver saw their five-game winning streak come to an end when they lost to Minnesota last Tuesday. But with reigning MVP Nikola Jokic in tow, they should be able to win one over Utah to end their season series at 1-3.

Portland Trail Blazers @ Los Angeles Lakers

Given how tough the Lakers’ schedule will be for the rest of this season, the pressure is on for them to take care of business in the next few games.

It doesn’t help that LeBron James is doubtful to play due to a knee issue, but they still have stars in Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook.

A loss against the Blazers – who are also without their best player in Damian Lillard – would certainly hurt their morale.
