NBA: Do You Believe in Magic?

countdown banner

Believe it or not, the Magic are the hottest team in the NBA right now. Because they’ve won nine games in a row, this young squad is the second-best team in the Eastern Conference behind the Celtics, whom they beat just last week in their in-season tournament contest.

Orlando will look to win 10 games on the bounce when they visit Brooklyn tomorrow as part of their two-game road trip to kick off the month of December.

Elsewhere, the Warriors, Timberwolves, Cavaliers, Pacers, Pelicans, Hawks, Thunder, Grizzlies, Blazers, Nuggets, and Rockets are also going to visit the Clippers, Hornets, Pistons, Heat, Bulls, Bucks, Mavericks, Suns, Jazz, Kings, and Lakers, respectively.

Learn more about tomorrow’s jam-packed schedule, as we’re here to preview some of the best matchups that SBOTOP basketball fans should look forward to.

Golden State Warriors @ LA Clippers

The Warriors meet the Clippers again tomorrow, but this time it’ll be in Los Angeles.

On Thursday, Golden State came away with a 120-114 win, as seven of their players scored in double digits, with the Splash Brothers, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, leading the way with 26 and 22 points, respectively.

The fact that everybody showed up is a step in the right direction for the Warriors, who looked like Father Time was catching up to them with their lacklustre run of NBA 2023 results.

Kawhi Leonard had 23 points and seven rebounds in the losing effort, but his co-star Paul George went 6-for-18 shooting en route to having only 15 points, although he had 10 assists.

George’s shooting struggles are a concern for LA since the All-Star forward has only connected 31-per cent of his field goal attempts over his last three games.

Orlando Magic @ Brooklyn Nets

Franz Wagner has been on fire in the last three games, which is a key reason why the Magic remain unbeaten. He has now recorded three consecutive 30-point games, albeit against the Hornets and the Wizards (twice).

Should the Magic win against the Nets in Brooklyn, the site of their last defeat on November 14, they would set a new franchise record for the longest winning streak in franchise history.

The Nets, on the other hand, are coming off a loss against the Hornets on Thursday. Prior to that, they were on a three-game winning streak.

The return of Cam Thomas is a huge boost for Brooklyn, as he scored 26 points in his return against Charlotte. In his nine outings this season, the LSU product is averaging 26.8 points per contest.

Indiana Pacers @ Miami Heat

The Pacers and the Heat are also going to meet for the second game in a row in South Beach. On Thursday, the hosts came away with a 142-132 win to snap their three-game skid despite losing Bam Adebayo to injury.

Jimmy Butler notched 36 points and 11 rebounds to guide the Heat to the victory, while Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Josh Richardson combined for 43 points off the bench.

Tyrese Haliburton had 44 points, 10 assists, and made six three-pointers in the losing effort.

The Pacers point guard is coming off a historic November since he became the third player in NBA history alongside Michael Jordan and LeBron James to average at least 25 points and 10 assists per contest while shooting 50 and 40-per cent from the field and three-point range, respectively, in a single month.

Atlanta Hawks @ Milwaukee Bucks

The Hawks are keen to beat the Bucks for the second time in a row this season to get over the .500 mark.

Atlanta managed to hand the Spurs their 13th straight loss on Thursday, as Trae Young had 45 points and 14 assists, while backcourt partner Dejounte Murray added 24 points and five steals.

Milwaukee, meanwhile, are planning to get back to winning ways after being dispatched by the Bulls in OT.

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Dallas Mavericks

Luka Doncic is expected to be back against the Thunder, which is a massive boost for the Mavericks’ NBA 2023 odds. The Slovenian superstar had to sit out on Friday because his partner gave birth to his first child.

Dallas are fresh from a 108-94 loss against Memphis, as the former struggled from the field, only shooting 37-per cent as a team sans Doncic.

Oklahoma City, meanwhile, have won seven of their last 10 games, and they just blew out the Lakers 133-110 on Thursday.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been dominant for the Thunder, posting norms of 32.4 points, 5.9 assists, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game over his last 10 contests.
