NBA: Can the Blazers Beat the Streaking Nuggets on the Road?

The Nuggets are one of the best teams in the NBA this season because they’ve been brilliant at home. So far, they are 19-3 in their home games, and they have a 30-13 win-loss record, which is good for the top seed in the Western Conference.

Denver have won 13 consecutive home games and will try for their 14th straight when they host Portland at the Ball Arena on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Bucks, Spurs, and Clippers will also have to defend their home courts against the Raptors, Nets, and Sixers, respectively.

Following a busy nine-game slate today, we only have four games tomorrow, but SBOTOP basketball fans are still going to get their dose of NBA 2023 highlights.

Toronto Raptors @ Milwaukee Bucks

Tomorrow marks the second half of a back-to-back for the Raptors and the Bucks, and both clubs are aiming for a sweep.

The Bucks recently defeated the Pacers, even with Giannis Antetokounmpo out for the third consecutive game. It was a morale-boosting victory for Milwaukee after losing two consecutive matches in Miami last week.

Jrue Holiday and Bobby Portis stepped up with the Greek Freak sidelined. Holiday recorded 35 points and 11 assists, while Portis had 21 points and 11 rebounds against the Pacers.

Antetokounmpo’s status against the Raptors is still unclear. He is currently dealing with knee soreness and has struggled in previous games.

As for the Raptors, they’re also coming off a victory, beating the Knicks 123-121 in overtime at Madison Square Garden.

Fred VanVleet, Scottie Barnes, and Pascal Siakam combined for 79 points for their fourth win over the last five games.

Milwaukee and Toronto met earlier this month, where the former prevailed 104-101 in overtime.

Brooklyn Nets @ San Antonio Spurs

The NBA 2023 odds favour the Nets to win against the Spurs, but Brooklyn shouldn’t be complacent at all because every game matters in the tightening Eastern Conference.

Brooklyn are on a two-game skid after losing to Boston and Oklahoma City last week. That is because they have struggled to close out games without their franchise superstar, Kevin Durant, who’s out for at least a month due to a sprained MCL.

The Nets will be looking to bounce back from recent NBA defeats when they play against the Spurs
Brooklyn Nets’ Kyrie Irving reacts during the fourth quarter of their NBA game against the Oklahoma City Thunder

Kyrie Irving has been asked to shoulder the heavy load without Durant, and against the Celtics and Thunder, he has looked fatigued without his co-star. Guys like Seth Curry, TJ Warren, Royce O’Neale, and Nic Claxton have to do much better at supporting Irving.

After this game in San Antonio, they will travel to Phoenix, Utah, Golden State, and Philadelphia before returning home on January 27.

The Spurs, meanwhile, have lost five consecutive games. They have gone 8-28 since opening the 2022-23 season 5-2. Overall, they’re the fourth-worst team in the league at 13-31.

Portland Trail Blazers @ Denver Nuggets

Tomorrow is the final regular-season meeting between the Nuggets and the Blazers. The Blazers won the first game at home back in October, but the Nuggets have taken the next two matchups.

Denver will come into this game with a six-game winning streak, five of them by double digits. Their closest game was against the Magic on Monday, where it took a booming triple from Nikola Jokic for them to come away with a win.

Nikola Jokic is having yet another MVP-calibre campaign, as he is carrying the Nuggets on his broad shoulders once more. This season, he’s averaging 24.9 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 9.7 assists in just 33.3 minutes per game, and he also leads the league in triple-doubles.

Damian Lillard is also doing the same for the Blazers this year. The six-time NBA All-Star is averaging 35.0 points per game against the Nuggets this season and 28.8 points per game overall.

Portland recently completed a two-game sweep of Dallas on Monday. Following their game against Denver tomorrow, they will begin their six-game homestand against Philadelphia on Friday.

Betting Tip: Denver Nuggets Asian Handicap -7.00 @ 1.96

Philadelphia Sixers @ Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers are looking to avenge their earlier loss to the Sixers. During their previous matchup in December, Los Angeles led by as many as 20 points in the first half, but Philadelphia fought back to claim the 119-114 win.

Due to load management, Kawhi Leonard was forced to sit out their previous meeting. He should be available tomorrow, as he’ll look to reunite with Paul George.

George hasn’t played since January 6, but he is upgraded to questionable for this matchup after having fully practiced on Monday.

The Sixers, meanwhile, will have a full squad versus the Clippers. They have won four of their last five, with their last two being one-point wins.
