NBA Season Overview: Top Teams to Look Out for This Season

NBA fans have already started either getting their League Pass or drafting their fantasy teams as we prepare for the 2019/20 season, and this SBOBET writer is no exception.

The excitement continues to build up varying from different storylines whether it’s for the right or the wrong reasons, and boy, we all can’t wait!

While we already have this article to talk about what we need to know about the season, this time, allow us to look into the teams that we should look out for in this upcoming season.

Los Angeles Clippers

What a summer it has been for the “other” team in Los Angeles.

After a decent run in the playoffs last season, the Steve Ballmer-owned squad pulled off a coup that would bring them some of the league’s best two-way players in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

They are slated to tandem with fellow workhorses in Pat Beverley, Montrezl Harrell, and Lou Williams as they try to gun for their first franchise title. GMs believe that the Clippers have the highest NBA 2019 odds of winning it all according to the latest NBA survey.

Los Angeles Lakers

Speaking of Los Angeles teams, the Lakers have plans to contend as well as they acquired another superstar in Anthony Davis, plus some key veterans in Avery Bradley, Dwight Howard, and Danny Green.

LeBron James is eager to prove once again as to why he’s the best player in the planet. The three-time NBA champion is set to enter his 17th season and he looks well rested after he missed the postseason for the first time since 2005.

Houston Rockets

In what was one of the surprising moves of the offseason, Daryl Morey pulled the trigger to trade Chris Paul away in exchange for explosive guard Russell Westbrook. Westbrook is set to be reunited with James Harden and they are expected to produce some of this season’s top NBA 2019 highlights with their scoring ability and fast-paced play.

While most pundits are skeptical on whether this would work in the long haul, Harden and Westbrook are determined to mesh their play styles together to give the Rockets their first championship since 1995.

Golden State Warriors

The Warriors look drastically different compared to the beginning of last season, but it would be foolish to count them out as they still have one of the best duos in Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, plus defensive specialist Draymond Green.

They have also added some young, shiny pieces in Alec Burks, Omari Spellman, Willie Cauley-Stein, and D’Angelo Russell over the summer, and for sure no one would like to face them early in the playoffs.

Denver Nuggets

While most teams have retooled by adding new shiny pieces to their roster, the Denver Nuggets have done the opposite by staying put for the most part and built their chemistry.

The Mike Malone-mentored squad will try to outdo their playoff run last season and they still have their core in places with guys like Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Gary Harris, and Paul Millsap leading the way.

Milwaukee Bucks

Giannis Antetokounmpo is going to be a man on a mission as he tries to elevate the Milwaukee Bucks to new heights this upcoming season. The Greek Freak is out to win not only his second straight MVP nod, but he’ll also try to win his first NBA title.

Despite losing Malcolm Brogdon to the Pacers, Antetokounmpo believes that the team will still be “scary” good especially with the likes of Khris Middleton, Eric Bledsoe, and Brook Lopez still in the mix. This team will no doubt emerge as one of the top title contenders in the league.

Brooklyn Nets

Many believed that stars like Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant would go to New York soon, but not many anticipated that it will for the Brooklyn Nets.

Irving and Durant will join an up-and-coming team filled with interesting young pieces in Jarrett Allen, Joe Harris, and Caris Levert. They aren’t expected to go deep into the playoffs especially with Kevin Durant out with an Achilles injury. However, they are still expected to contend in the East with their deep roster.

Boston Celtics

The Celtics are coming in with renewed confidence after a decent offseason. They were able to make up for the losses of Terry Rozier, Kyrie Irving and Al Horford by bringing in Kemba Walker and Enes Kanter to bolster their lineup.

Boston also brought in a nice haul during the NBA Draft with Carsen Edwards, Romeo Langford, and Tacko Fall. Expectations aren’t high for them compared to last season, but I won’t be surprised if they’ll be a dark horse contender in the playoffs.

Miami Heat

Like Boston, the Heat did well during the summer by fielding a new superstar in Jimmy Butler and a promising sharpshooter in Tyler Herro.

These two new acquisitions will bring in depth and versatility to coach Erik Spoelstra along with the likes of Bam Adebayo, Goran Dragic, and Justise Winslow as they try to make it back to the playoffs after missing it last season.

Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers became one of the biggest winners of the summer and they will feature a formidable roster that appears to be one of the most talented starting fives on paper with Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Josh Richardson, Al Horford, and Tobias Harris.

Most critics predict that they will go to as far as the NBA Finals and it would be a big surprise if they won’t reach to at least the Eastern Conference Finals.
