NBA Recap: Karl Anthony-Towns Back, Marc Gasol Leads the Attack

The Memphis Grizzlies remain to be hottest team in the NBA as they grabbed their seventh victory in a row while teams like the Sixers, Heat, Raptors, and Hawks have improved their win-loss records with victories over their respective counterparts.

We also saw the return of some of the best big men today in Marc Gasol and Karl Anthony-Towns, and they didn’t have any rust whatsoever as they’ve contributed to their teams.

Without further ado, SBOBET brings to you the recap of today’s seven-game slate.

Indiana Pacers 116-114 Minnesota Timberwolves

Malcolm Brogdon bailed the Pacers out by sinking the game-winning floater to give them the lead for good with 18 seconds left.

The Pacers, who had a seven-point lead with under four minutes, had to endure a furious rally by the Timberwolves capped off by the game-tying free throws of Karl Anthony-Towns.

TJ Warren led Indiana with 28 points while they got ample support from Jeremy Lamb and Aaron Holiday who notched 18 and 13 respectively.

Karl Anthony-Towns made his return after 15 games by scoring a team-high 27 points while Andrew Wiggins added 22 in the losing effort.

Philadelphia Sixers 100-89 Chicago Bulls

Furkan Korkmaz got it going from the perimeter and his career-high of 24 points led the Sixers to their 20th home win of the season.

The Turkey international buried six three-pointers and added four rebounds off the bench. Ben Simmons and Al Horford recorded 20 apiece as they try to hold down the fort without Joel Embiid.

Zach LaVine led the Bulls with 23 points while Coby White added 14. The Bulls struggled to take care of the basketball as they turned the ball over 11 times in the second half to give the game away. All in all, they had 16 turnovers.

Toronto Raptors 140-111 Washington Wizards

The Raptors put up a historic performance at home by scoring 140 points against the Wizards – the most points they’ve ever scored in regulation.

Marc Gasol’s return was a key factor for Toronto as he tallied 20 points along with six three-pointers made. Terence Davis, OG Anunoby, Serge Ibaka, Pascal Siakam, and Kyle Lowry also scored in double digits for the team.

Washington, on the other hand, turned the ball over 28 times – which led to 30 more points for Toronto.

Troy Brown Jr. topscored with 22 points for the Wizards, who lost their third straight game.

Memphis Grizzlies 113-109 Cleveland Cavaliers

The Grizzlies extended their winning streak to seven games as they upended the visiting Cavaliers.

Super rookie Ja Morant continues to bring more NBA 2020 highlights with his all-around excellence as he scored 16 points and eight assists in this game. Dillon Brooks led the way in scoring with 26.

Memphis almost squandered their 12-point lead when they failed to score in the final two minutes. Cleveland managed to trim the deficit to four points, but Kevin Love missed two three-point attempts in the last 11 seconds.

Collin Sexton had 28 points and six assists while Kevin Love added 19 in the losing effort.

Miami Heat 115-108 Oklahoma City Thunder

Kendrick Nunn continues his stellar rookie season as he helped the Heat win over the Thunder last night.

The two-time Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month was coming off a 33-point effort against the Spurs last Wednesday, and this time he scored 22 by making nine shots including three treys.

Miami bounced back after struggling for a bit as they now improved to 11-11 on the road this season.

The Heat led in double digits after scoring 40 points in the first canto and they never looked back as they expanded the advantage to as high as 22 points in the final eight minutes of the ball game.

Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler also contributed to the win by adding 21 and 14 points each.

Danilo Gallinari topscored for OKC with 27 while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Dennis Schroder added 18 apiece.

Atlanta Hawks 121-120 San Antonio Spurs

The Hawks rallied from a 14-point deficit in the final frame to stun the Spurs last night at the AT&T Center.

Trae Young notched 31 points as he helped Atlanta snap their 21-game losing streak in San Antonio. They won for the first time there since February 1997.

Kevin Huerter put the final nail in the coffin with his left-corner three with six seconds remaining to complete the rally. In the ensuing possession, DeMar DeRozan’s runner over three defenders bounced off the rim as the final buzzer sounded.

LaMarcus Aldridge had a team-high 30 points while DeMar DeRozan added 24, as they lost for the third time in four matches.

Jeff Teague — who was acquired by the Hawks from the Timberwolves — was not with the team during the game, but he is expected to suit up for them soon.

Dallas Mavericks 120-112 Portland Trail Blazers

Luka Doncic boosted his NBA 2020 odds of winning the MVP once more as he led the Mavericks past the Blazers.

The 20-year-old sensation notched 35 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, including a career-high of eight three-pointers.

Tim Hardaway Jr. added 29 points while Seth Curry recorded 16 off the bench as Dallas continue to hold their ground without the services of Kristaps Porzingis.

CJ McCollum exited early in the first half due to a sprained ankle, and that left the Blazers with big shoes to fill.

Damian Lillard scored 34 points while Carmelo Anthony added 22. Hassan Whiteside had 21 points and 18 rebounds.
