Anthony Davis put all teams on alert after his camp announced that he wouldn’t sign an extension with the New Orleans Pelicans. Subsequently, the 25-year-old big man requested a trade to a championship contending team.
That’s undoubtedly a massive blow for the Pels who are hoping to build a contender around Davis. However, it comes as good news to all other franchise looking to compete for the title this season, particularly the Los Angeles Lakers—Davis’ long-rumoured suitor.
The Pels will hope to move on and, possibly, convince Davis that they are the best choice when they take on the surging Houston Rockets. On the other hand, the Lakers are set to show The Brow what awaits him in Hollywood should they be able to work out a deal before next week’s trade deadline.

One of the revelations in the Milwaukee Bucks’ defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder is that the league’s No.1 defensive team can be beaten beyond the arc. The Thunder converted 16 of their 32 attempts from deep, with All-Star Paul George accounting for eight of those makes.

Philadelphia need every win they can get to climb the East standings further, and it should help that they are brimming with confidence after winning two of their three games last week (against the Spurs and Rockets).
