Did you miss watching the football games of the German top flight? Don’t worry, you’re not alone in that thinking!
The Bundesliga starts 2018 right with plenty of football betting opportunities for the discerning punter. There are big matches and intriguing clashes that promises nothing but exciting betting odds for you!
WEEK 18 SATURDAY:
Bayer Leverkusen vs Bayern Munich
The first Bundesliga match of the year is promising to be an explosive one when Bayer Leverkusen play Munich at the BayArena.
The hosts are currently fourth in the table thanks to goals from Kevin Volland and Leon Bailey. While they have to play against a Bayern side that is talented from top to bottom, I believe that Leverkusen have the personnel to wring out a draw.
Punters can make good money from Leverkusen +0.50 @ 2.08.
Werder Bremen vs Hoffenheim
Mark Uth is doing plenty of scoring for Hoffenheim, but their struggles saw them drop out of the Top Six. A win against Werder Bremen would be a great help in their objective to secure a European spot. Their hosts didn’t end the year well, so they have a shot at winning.
Eintracht Frankfurt vs SC Freiburg
Frankfurt have the definite advantage over Freiburg when it comes to playing style, so the Breisgau-Brasilianer have to mark their defences tightly. They especially have to prevent Sebastien Haller from imposing his will in front of goal.
Augsburg vs Hamburger SV
Hamburg have to do a lot of work if they want to avoid the drop to 2. Bundesliga. While Augsburg is a tough opponent, the Red Shorts need to get their act together and stop the hosts from scoring at will.
Hannover 96 vs Mainz 05
Hannover are struggling to string together wins the way they did in August, but they’re not doing as bad as their visitors. Mainz are a draw away from joining the relegation battle, so a win against Hannover is a top priority for Sandro Schwarz. Hannover fans will be hoping for goals from Martin Harnik, Niclas Fullkrug and Ihlas Bebo.
VfB Stuttgart vs Hertha BSC
This fixture is important for both sides. A win could send Hertha Berlin back to the thick of the competition for Europe while Stuttgart could really use the three points to put a buffer between them and the relegation tussle. Berlin will need to be careful with losing the ball, or a quick goal from Stuttgart could see the game turn south for them.
I still think Berlin have the advantage here despite the dangers of playing away, so punters should have no problem going for Hertha Berlin +0.25 @ 2.02.
WEEK 18 SUNDAY:
RB Leipzig @ Schalke 04
Leipzig’s fall from second during the Yuletide month is surprising, especially when one considers the fantastic November the Red Bulls had. They have a chance of turning things around when they host Schalke, but Die Knappen are also doing well themselves.
This game will be an entertaining draw, so I have no qualms about putting money in Schalke +0.25 @ 2.16.
FC Koln vs Borussia Monchengladbach
Koln ended the year with a bit of cheer when they finally toppled Wolfsburg at home. However, they have to put the win behind them as they start the year with a tough fixture. Meanwhile, Monchengladbach are playing fantastically and are fighting for a spot in European competition. I’m sure that they would rather trip onto a pile of excrement than give the Billy Goats more points.
WEEK 18 MONDAY:
Borussia Dortmund vs VfL Wolfsburg
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a godsend for many BVB faithful as his goals were a huge part of the club’s resurgence in the table. While their chances for domestic glory are pretty dashed, they have a shot at second by smashing Wolfsburg at home.
