The Warriors’ chance for redemption is now!

NBA Finals Game 5

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Golden State Warriors (June 13, 09:00 GMT+8)

We all know what happened in Game 5 of last year’s NBA Finals: Draymond Green was suspended and the Cleveland Cavaliers won the fight before staging a historic comeback to shock the online gambling community and lift the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

The series is back to 3-1 again heading to the important match, but it’s different this time with Green available to play and the Warriors featuring Kevin Durant who has been huge for them this postseason.

Sports betting pundits expect the Dubs to finish the series now; and with betting odds giving them a handicap of -9.50 @ 2.17, it’s clear that they have a good chance to take their revenge and celebrate the championship in front of their home crowd.

They wouldn’t want the finals to extend to Game 7 anyway.

Golden State are obviously the stronger team. Their win in the first three matches with an average lead of 15 points per game is proof of that.

Not to mention that the Cavs’ defence is having a hard time stopping them especially from transition – an issue that has plagued the defending champions in this battle.

It remains to be seen if the Warriors, particularly the Splash Bros., can recapture their form after the three-point shooting slump they experienced the last time out. However, with the consistency they’ve shown so far and the collection of offensive talent, chances are high that they’ll recover quickly.

The Cavs will need another big performance from their Big Three if they want to pull off another upset. Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love combined for more than half of their 24 treys in Game 4, so they’ll be pivotal again for the Cavs to dictate and control the pace.

LeBron James, who has been showing signs of exhaustion, also needs help and it will be great if the bench unit can step up their play to aid the King.

Nonetheless, as much as I want to hope for the Cavs to make this a series, it’s just difficult to imagine the Warriors letting go of this opportunity. There’s no denying that Cleveland still have a small chance of taking the W here, but I doubt Steve Kerr will allow another disappointment under his stewardship.
