NBA Preview: Sixers and Heat Stake Their Home Winning Streaks

The Philadelphia Sixers and the Miami Heat are looking to extend their undefeated winning streak at home as part of our four-game slate on an NBA Wednesday.

Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic will clash in a battle of bigs in the Wells Fargo Center while Jimmy Butler and the Heat are aiming for their third straight victory over the Hawks this season.

Carmelo Anthony will face his former team in the New York Knicks, albeit at the Moda Center. On the other hand, the Wizards and the Hornets are looking to overcome their struggles defencively at the Spectrum Center.

Without further ado, SBOBET brings you the preview for tomorrow’s set of games.

Washington Wizards @ Charlotte Hornets

Both of these teams are set to lock horns as they’ll look to gather some momentum after enduring tough losses.

The Hornets have conceded a 71-point second half in their recent 122-107 loss against the Atlanta Hawks while the Wizards are reeling from a 135-119 defeat at the hands of the Clippers.

Washington is still one of the league’s top offences by scoring 118.2 points per game. However, their effort on that end goes to naught since defencive stops are harder to come by. It also didn’t help when they had to deal with some horrible refereeing recently.

Meanwhile for Charlotte, head coach James Borrego has been trying different combinations in order to find a recipe to success.

A good example of that is when seldom-used forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was used last Sunday. That trend might continue since PJ Washington and Marvin Williams are listed day-to-day with their respective injuries.

Betting tip: Wizards Asian Handicap -2.00 @2.03

Denver Nuggets @ Philadelphia 76ers

Philadelphia are still undefeated at home after 12 games, and they will look to extend the streak to 13 as they host Denver tomorrow.

The Brett Brown-coached squad just came off of a close win against the Raptors. The Sixers held on despite turning the ball over 11 times in the final period as the visitors made a late rally.

Tobias Harris led the team with 26 points while Ben Simmons almost recorded a triple-double with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists. Rookie defender Matisse Thybulle registered a career-high of 20 points, including five three-pointers made.

The Nuggets, who have already defeated the Sixers earlier, are looking to get back to their winning ways after losing four of their past five.

They are to be led by Nikola Jokic, who posts averages of 16.1 points, 10.1 rebounds, and six assists per game. He is expected to churn out some notable NBA 2019 highlights along with Paul Millsap, who has been their most consistent player so far this season with norms of 13.0 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.

Betting tip: Sixers Asian Handicap -3.50 @1.85

Atlanta Hawks @ Miami Heat

The Heat will look to assert their mastery of the Hawks this season, as they will play at home for their third out of their four games tomorrow.

Last October, Miami took advantage when Trae Young previously suffered an ankle injury as they won twice in a three-day, home-and-home series.

This time, Young is healthy and is finding his groove as he’s been averaging 34.4 points per game in their last eight contests.

They are still awaiting the return of John Collins because of his 25-game suspension. On the other hand, Alex Len is listed as probable due to flu-like symptoms.

The home team is coming off of a thrilling win against the Bulls in OT. Tyler Herro poured in 27 points, including a go-ahead trey with 38 seconds left in added time.

He will be backstopped by Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, who are tallying healthy scoring averages of 20.6 and 14.6 markers respectively.

Betting tip: Heat Asian Handicap -9.50 @1.98

New York Knicks @ Portland Trail Blazers

Even with a new coach in tow, the New York Knicks are not favoured to win this game based on our NBA 2019 odds.

Mike Miller will be at the helm for the second time as they’ll face the Blazers at the Moda Center.

They will visit a Portland squad that has been struggling too as of late, reeling from losses against the Thunder and the Lakers.

After finding his vintage form over these last few games, Carmelo Anthony went cold by shooting only 8-for-31 during those defeats. Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum also experienced the same problems even if they reached at least 20 points.

Compared to the Knicks, the Blazers look to be in better shape for a turnaround because of their good coaching staff and management. The Knicks are currently holding the league’s worst win-loss card at 4-19.

Betting tip: Blazers Asian Handicap -9.50 @2.04
